How to Import Contacts From Gmail to Your Phone

Method 1: Adding the Gmail Account to Contacts

This is the first method you can use, in order to import contacts from Gmail to your iPhone. Follow the below-mentioned steps to do so.

  1. Open the iPhone’s settings

The iPhone’s Settings is a gray app that contains a gear icon. It is located typically on the home screen of the iPhone.

  1. Tap on Contacts

Scroll down to the Settings icon and you will find the Contacts tab about a third of the way down on the page.

  1. Tap on Accounts

This option will typically be situated on the top of the “Contacts” page.

  1. Tap on Add Account

This tab will be situated on the bottom of the page.

  1. Tap on Google

This option, situated below the iCloud and Exchange options on the page, will add the Google account to your iPhone.

  1. Type the Google email address

Enter the email address of your email account. You can also use the phone number instead.

  1. Tap on Next

This icon is situated on the bottom right corner of the page.

  1. Enter the Google password

Type the password in the password field situated in the middle of the page.

  2. Slide the Contacts button to the On position

Doing so will turn the button green.

  1. Tap on Save

This button is situated on the top right corner of the screen. Tapping this icon will import the Gmail contacts to the iPhone’s Contacts app.

Method 2: Enabling contacts for an existing Gmail account

This method helps you to enable the Contacts tab for an existing Gmail account on your iPhone. Follow the steps mentioned below:

  1. Open the iPhone’s Settings

  1. Tap on Contacts
